THEATRE HALL RIF

The Kaspy Ndia Mirror project takes over Rif in two strong moments. The residency runs from 20 to 25 July 2026 and continues from 18 to 21 August 2026, concluding with a public presentation.

First session (20-25 July) – The drawing workshop
This week, Kaspy Ndia is fully immersing himself in his visual art. A musician, composer and performer, but also a gifted draughtsman, he's setting the stage aside for paper. He will be finishing a series of masterpieces (large-format portraits) to supplement the existing 250 portrait sketches. This residency is, first and foremost, a graphic laboratory, where line becomes language and the artist's gaze explores the multifaceted nature of identity.

Second Session (18-21 August) – The Meeting of Disciplines
The artistic team is invited to join Kaspy Ndia in Rif for the final phase of interdisciplinary alignment. The project involves, among other things:

· Contemporary dance: Anne Marie and Anya.
Music: Gert Nelson, Laura Senior, Daniel Menezes and Adilia Yiip, together with Kaspy.

These days are focused on the final fine-tuning and preparation for the public presentation.

Open Studio – 21 August 2026 7:30 PM
After the second session, the audience will be invited to an open house in two parts:

The exhibition of the portraits made in July, available to view in its entirety.
2. A live representation with the available artists for music and dance. It is not a full version of the performance, but a partial presentation – an intimate introduction to the work in progress, where music, poems, and movements come together with the performers present at the time.
