With a hearty dose of punk, absurd humour and player urgency, Goele Denil, Gode Kempen, Sascha Bornkamp and Elias Vandenbroucke go in search of that which does not want to be tamed. What would the world look like if we didn't tame our swearing, wiggling feet and fidgeting fingers? What does that swirling energy that burns and roars and never wants to go to sleep tell us? Is anger something to be feared or can we also learn something from it? And what happens when we stop suppressing our raging feelings and instead embrace them?

WOEST is musical family performance for every over-10-year-old who has ever felt his underbelly boiling or a storm raging out of her mouth and HAS FOUND OUT HIS EARS AND THEN HEARD THAT THEY SHOULD BE CALM AND BREAKFUL AND REASONABLE AND PREVIOUSLY NOT BOY! MUST! BE! AND THEREFORE NOW DOESN'T KNOW HOW!!! THEN!!! WELL!!! TO!!! TO!!! GO!!! WITH!!! ALL!!! DIE!!! WOESTE!!! FEELINGS!!!

Goele Denil graduated as a player/maker from the Antwerp Conservatory in 2020. She has a great fascination for wacky characters, absurd twists and worlds bursting at the seams. In making WOEST, she draws on her past as a criminologist/orthopedagogue and gives stage to that which should not exist. Among others, she starred in ‘Groezel, or grey, the living radish’ (7+) by Abattoir Fermé/hetpaleis, ‘Fel Vel’ by theatre company O'Kontreir and ‘Charity Party’ by Sibran Sampers. In 2021-2022, she wrote and performed the monologue ‘Slop’ (co-production De Studio, Walpurgis and Marthatentatief!). In season 2026-2027, Goele will also be seen at The New Bazaar.
